Bulletin: SAMOK’s tools for increasing internationalisation at home in Universities of Applied Sciences are published

On 23 October, National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK published the programme “More Internationalism at Home”, which presents ways to promote internationalism at universities of applied sciences. Home internationalisation refers to internationalisation in the home country in various forms, such as international learning environments and international learning content.

You can find the programme here.

“At SAMOK, we see that increasing home internationalisation in the UAS communities is important for promoting access to internationalisation skills. It is not necessarily possible for everyone to go abroad for an exchange or internship, so it is also essential to promote internationalisation opportunities in our own universities of applied sciences,” says SAMOK board member Janina Brunfeldt.

In 2023, SAMOK, together with the National Union of University Students in Finland – SYL, has also published a programme to increase the mobility of higher education students.

“It is important that students’ internationalisation is promoted comprehensively, both at home and through exchange opportunities. International skills are essential for studies, working life and personal growth,” says SAMOK President Lauri Kujala.
