Eino Salama Mervola is the candidate for the 2027 SAMOK Board President.
Eino is from the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences student union METKA, and has served this year as board member in the METKA board.
Why are you running for the SAMOK’s Board?
I want to build a student movement where impactful lobbying, strong community, transparent finances, and member services go hand in hand. I am running for SAMOK to ensure every student union has a bold, experienced, and results-driven partner for everyday challenges.
Responsibilities are also divided among the presidency in different ways depending on the year. What issues would you be particularly interested in in the Bureau’s area of responsibility?
Political advocacy, leadership, parliamentary elections, equality
What kind of networks do you have and what kind of networker are you?
Over 8 years, I have built broad, cross-party connections across the political spectrum. As a networker, I am proactive, approachable, and strategic. I build bridges and turn relationships into concrete results for the shared goals of the student movement.
What kind of political lobbying experience do you have? For example, experience in lobbying.
Active in politics since age 14, I am the co-founder of a firm specializing in political lobbying and advocacy for NGOs. My hands-on track record also includes funding processes for the City of Helsinki’s Ruuti initiatives and direct campaigning.
What kind of leadership experience do you have and what kind of leader do you aspire to be?
My leadership experience comes from NGO presidiums, entrepreneurship, and sales consulting. As a leader, I am inspiring, attentive, and solution-driven. I strive to foster trust within the team, support each person’s success, and deliver on our shared goals.
Tell us why you should be elected to the SAMOK Board.
I bring an 8-year political network, proven lobbying and leadership experience, and genuine drive to build a transparent, united, and results-driven student movement.
What else would you like to tell us?
The student movement faces defining times: we need bold, professional advocacy, paired with an open community and transparent governance. I want to bring my expertise, energy, and networks to SAMOK so every student union has a true partner and the voice of students is heard wherever our future is decided. Let’s make it happen together!
Years of organizational work have taught me solution-oriented thinking, negotiation skills, and resilience under pressure. I bring strategic vision to SAMOK, but above all, an inspiring and approachable partner for every student union.
