www.tulevaisuudenamk.fi

The Rectors’ Conference of Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences Arene and the National Union of Students in Finnish Universities of Applied Sciences – SAMOK will jointly organise the University of Applied Sciences of the Future hackathon in spring 2021. We are looking for teams of UAS students to develop solutions to the future challenges of UAS education.

The event celebrates 25 years of permanent universities of applied sciences, looks to the future, challenges our thinking and creates something new. The entire event and all associated sessions will be held online.

Team applications

We are looking for teams of 2–5 UAS students to tackle the challenges facing universities of applied sciences in the future. Each team chooses a challenge for which it wants to develop a proposed solution during the competition. The challenge and proposed solution must fall within one of four predefined themes:

Sustainable development

Digitalisation

Continuous learning

The changing world of work

Teams submit their applications in January 2021. The event begins on 17 February with a kick-off day for the selected teams, after which the teams can further develop their proposed solutions.

Development and networking days, 25–26 March 2021

The event gives different actors in UAS education an opportunity to discuss future themes and network. The teams taking part in the competition will attend and present the proposed solutions they have developed. We also invite companies in the sector and representatives of universities of applied sciences and student unions.

Invitations to the development and networking days will be sent separately closer to the event. Please save the dates in your calendar now!

Final, 14 April 2021

The competition, which runs throughout the spring, culminates in the final on 14 April. In the final, teams pitch their completed solutions, which the jury will comment on and assess. The winning team will receive a €3,000 cash prize. Smaller additional prizes will also be awarded in the final. Anyone can watch the final live at www.tulevaisuudenamk.fi.
